DESCRIPTION
Maintaining internal controls is a process to address risks and to provide reasonable asurance that the health center is operating effectively, protecting its assets, and assuring proper use of Federal government dollars. This Information Bulletin: 1) describes appropriate internal controls for health centers, 2) examines controls from an auding perspective, and 3) provides a sample internal control checklist to establish and monitor an internal control system.
